The 8 best beauty trends identified at Fashion Week 2021

From New York to Paris, via London and Milan, nearly 200 fashion shows presented the trends for next year. While each show revealed something different and unique, when it comes to beauty, many large houses have shared common themes. Check out the 8 key makeup trends to wear this coming season.

# Makeup “without makeup”

Uncomplicated beauty will surely find its way back.
Louis Vuitton and Pat McGrath played with the idea of a barely present makeup, and both Chloe and Gonçalo Peixoto followed the same examples to achieve “natural” skin. Because beautiful skin is always trendy! However, when watching models at these shows, the important thing to remember is that their faces have makeup even when we can’t see it, because so much beauty comes with perfect skin skincare and amazing foundation!

# Smoky Eyes

Although it has never gone out of fashion, this type of makeup hasn’t been very successful for a long time and has returned to the fore in the last fashion weeks. This season they present themselves in an even more rock proposal and without many rules. Fendi, Chanel and Dior presented well-defined eyes in shades of brown and black.

# EYELINER

No longer a single line, no longer just black. Floating, geometric, angular, sometimes even a simple graphic sign, halfway between a period and a comma, almost drawn casually, it goes beyond the classic line and Between a nude beauty look and another, Chloé has left her mark with a fluo orange eyeliner dashed in the inner and outer corner of the eye, with a very pointed geometric shape.

# COLORED EYES

And in particular, acid colors are back. From green (from multiple shades) to light blue to hints of lime and for this type of makeup, the sky is the limit! If your autumn wardrobe usually consists of brown, black and more black, what better way to add a some color? Let your creativity flow and play with the colors and finishes of the eyeshadows. For inspiration, check out the Versace show, which was one of the most talked about, especially to have singer Dua Lipa and other big names on the catwalk, such as Naomi Campbell and Gigi Hadid.

# Green light for color

Not sure how to add an extra touch to your basic everyday makeup? Max Mara and Fendi may have the solution! The brands of the Milan fashion week are betting how to bring vibrant colors in the unique points of the face, such as lips and cheeks, abusing the warmer shades.

# Soapy eyebrows

It looks like the soapy brow trend that has become popular on TikTok and Instagram will continue. But why should it? Because it makes your brows look very smooth, effortless and flawless. Designers are sure to like this trend, considering everyone from Jason Wu to Dior has opted for the sleek textured eyebrow that may have been created with just a little glycerin soap!

# Time for Stickers

Time to step out of your comfort zone and feel like a five-year-old again as you eagerly peruse the sticker packs to decide which ones to decorate your face (or body) with. From Fara Homidi of Coperni, who tucked in some jewelry in the creases of the models ‘eyes, to Burberry’s Isamaya Ffrench, who adds “constellations” to the models’ faces. However, if you want to opt for something more natural, follow the example of Bora Aksu, where models walked the catwalks with the flowers under the eyes.

# Lips Protagonist

If you are on the eye-nothing and mouth-all team, be inspired by the shows of Saint Laurent, with a well-marked burgundy mouth, and Acne Studio, which took makeup to another level and applied sequins on the lips. In both cases, the makeup is very light and with few (or no) products. A dark red and burgundy lipstick will be a must – as well as a great classic of the colder season. But who is it good for? Eye to the texture: the gloss effect tends to widen, so it is perfect for those with thin lips or small mouths, the opaque instead shrinks so it is ideal for fuller lips .
